Youth Development
All the teams that participated in our first youth tournament on May 1 were ultimately winners. With generally good conditions, they were able to play a varied round on our beautiful course. In addition, all participants managed to confirm their handicaps. The visiting players from Mainsondheim were particularly successful, securing the top three spots on a course that was new to them.
We would have been delighted to see more of our own youth participate—especially since the delicious food and the pleasant get-together after the tournament were very well received by all participants.
Bad Windsheim's young golfers shine in Mainsondheim
On Saturday, July 15, 2023, the young golfers from Bad Windsheim—Magdalena and Moritz Fiedler, Georg Fröhlich, and Yuna Hauck—confidently secured first place in the Bavarian Mini Team Cup competition in Mainsondheim amid sweltering summer temperatures.
Out of a total of six participating teams, the four players from Bad Windsheim finished ahead of both the hosts from Mainsondheim and the Main-Spessart 1 team.
There was also cause for celebration in the individual categories: Out of 22 participating children, Moritz Fiedler won the net score with 26 points and also secured the gross score with 10 points in the boys’ age group AK 12. Magdalena Fiedler (AK 10) and Yuna Hauck (AK 12) also won the gross scores in their respective age groups and were awarded medals for their achievements.
Just one week later, on Saturday, July 22, the quartet competed in the final tournament of the Bavarian Mini-Team Cup at the Herzogenaurach Golf Club. Their goal was to qualify for the final tournament in September in Munich-Eichenried, to which the 20 best junior teams in Bavaria are invited.
Since Moritz Fiedler had already successfully represented GC Bad Windsheim as an individual player at last year’s final tournament, the chances were good this year that the entire team would qualify for the first time.
